Schedule
Fall season will start Aug 4th and run for 9 weeks. We will not play on September 22nd due to aerification of greens that day. We’ll play 4 different formats, each format once on the Front 9 and once on the Back 9. The 4 formats will be:
- 9 Holes of “Creative” Par 3 Challenges
- Four-Player Team Modified Scottish Lowball
- Four-Player Team “Texas Scramble”

Entry Fee
Players can pay a $40 cash advance entry fee to secure a spot in the field each week. The $40 covers your $5 weekly game fee for the entire 8-week season. Make your payment to one of the TNML organizers or at the Pro Shop counter. There are no season long pots (i.e. no Hole-in-one, Birdie Bash, or FedEx pots)Alternatively, players can pay a $5 cash entry fee on a week-to-week basis. Available spots in the 44 player field will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis each week based on the “Event Signup” page in the Dogfight Web App. Weekly sign up will close at noon each Tuesday to allow the event to be setup prior to the 5:30 shotgun start.
Playing Partners
Players can request a playing partner for the complete season, request a playing partner on a week-toweek basis, or play as a “free agent” where they will be assigned to a group at random for a given event. Weekly partner requests must be mutual to be valid.Individual Handicap
All players will start the season with an individual handicap, and that handicap will remain the same for the entire Fall season. The individual handicap will be determined based on the first available source from the list below:- Final 2026 Summer TNML handicap (based on performance through 7/21/26)
- Dogfight scores from previous 6 months
- One pre-play round with an existing TNML member
- Administratively assigned by the TNML Organizers from other data (GHIN, etc.)
Scramble Team Handicap
A four-person scramble team ranks players by TNML Handicap (lowest is A, highest is D) and applies 25%/20%/15%/10% of each player’s TNML Handicap from A through D, then adds them together and rounds to the nearest integer to get the Team Handicap. A three-person scramble team ranks players by TNML Handicap (lowest is A, highest is C) and applies 30%/25%/15% of each player’s TNML Handicap from A through C, then adds them together and rounds to the nearest integer to get the Team Handicap. The Team Handicap is deducted from the total gross score to determine the Team Net Score for the scramble’s final scoring.Teams
For the Four-Player Team format events, teams will be formed as follows:- Two 2-man teams, were players requested each other as playing partners, and then two 2-man teams are paired at random
- One 2-man team, were players requested each other as playing partners, plus two “free agent” players assigned at random
- Four “free agent" players assigned at random
- When needed due to the number of entries, three-player teams will compete in an equitable fashion as described below.
Par 3
We’ll set up the 9 holes by moving the tee markers to make each hole a creative Par 3. The $5 per player entry fee will be fully paid out with $3 going to the CTP pot (there will be 9 CTPs awarded), $1 to the skins pot, and $1 to the low score pot to be split amongst the top 3 low gross scores and ties using the dogfight payout formula. If there are no skins, the skins pot will roll into the CTP pot. Pairing requests for cart partners can be made else players will be grouped at random and foursomes will be set at random.Modified Scottish Low Ball
Four-player teams where each player tees off on every hole and the team selects the tee ball to play, then all players play out the hole from there (within one club length, with no improvement in playing condition) with the sum of the 2 low net scores counting as the team score for the hole. Individual TNML handicaps apply and strokes are assigned to holes accordingly. Each four-player team must select a minimum of 2 tee balls from each member of the team during the 9-hole round.Texas Scramble
Four-player teams where each player tees off on every hole and the team selects the tee ball to play, then all players play from the chosen location. This process repeats until the ball is holed with the team recording one score per hole. Each four-player team must select a minimum of 2 tee balls from each member of the team during the 9-hole round.Florida Scramble
Four-player teams where each player tees off on every hole and the team selects the tee ball to play. The golfer whose shot was chosen must “step aside” and sit out the next shot. The team repeats this “best shot” selection and stepping aside until the ball is holed with the team recording one score per hole. Each four-player team must select a minimum of 2 tee balls from each member of the team during the 9-hole round.Three Player Team
When a three-player team is necessary, one player will play 2 balls on a “one hole at a time” rotating basis. The order of rotation must be set at the start of the match.
Example:
Player A plays 2 balls on holes 1, 4, 7 (or 10, 13, 16).
Player B plays 2 balls on holes 2, 5, 8 (or 11, 14, 17).
Player C plays 2 balls on holes 3, 6, 9 (or 12, 15, 18).
Each three-player team must select 3 tee balls from each member of the team during the 9-hole round.
If the format is a Florida Scramble and the shot chosen belongs to the player hitting two balls, he'll hit only one shot from the next location, with the additional shot being considered as the 'step-aside' shot.
If the format is Scottish Low Ball, only the best score the from player playing the extra ball is recorded.
Team Event Payouts
$4 from each entry fee goes to the team pot. 1st place team wins 65%, 2nd place team wins 35% based on Team Net Score. Net double bogey max, all putts must be holed & Tuesday night league rules in effect. $1 from each entry fee goes to the CTP pot. CTPs will be awarded on the two par 3 holes. “Putt-off” (see below) at the putting green will be used to determine winners in the event of a tie.Team Event Tie Breaker
A putt-off will be all members of each team in the tie taking one putt to the selected hole from the selected location on the putting green. Team members who leave the course before the putt-off will forfeit their chance to putt and will put their team at a disadvantage. Hole location and putt starting point to be determined by a TNML Organizer who has no stake in the outcome. Closest putt to the hole wins for his team. Teams waiting to putt must have their back turned while the other team is putting. If a three-person team is tied with a four-person team, one member of the four-person team will be eliminated from the putt-off at random based on a tee flip resulting in a 3 vs 3 putt-off.- No mulligan on first hole
- On the day of league play, players are not allowed to play/practice on the side of the course that will be used for league play that evening.
