Playing Two Movies Together

You can play two movies together to compare motion. You may want to compare before and after movies of the same person, or compare a student to someone more advanced.

Movies - playing two movies together

To play two movies together, you must set key frames in each movie that correspond to the same point in the motion.
The steps for playing two movies simultaneously and in sync are:

1.
Open up two movie windows by either

Pressing the F11 key

Using the screen layouts icon on the main toolbar, or

selecting Screen/Layouts from the main menu.

2.
Open up two movies from files or capture them from video. Put each movie in adjacent windows. If you open both movies at the same time, they will both be loaded, but only one will show in the active window. Move the mouse cursor to the blank (black) window and left click with the mouse. Click on the movie not displayed (it will be in the Hidden column) to display it in the blank window.

3.
Most skills have key points in the motion. Set identical key frames in each movie at these points so that motion will match at these frames. (See Setting Key Frames for details on how-to set key frames.)

4.
Click on the Sync icon on the movie toolbar to synchronize the two movies.

5.
Now when you play the movies, they will play together, matching motion at the key frames. The movies will automatically play faster and slower to match the key frames.
