Printing in VIS allows you to assemble up to ten different images on a single page. This feature is convenient for showing the learner's skill along side an expert, or adding captions and logos to each printed page.

Printing - combining several images on a page
VIS provides the capability of combining images, movie layouts, and printed information on a page. The page that will be printed, referred to as a print layout, can consist of up to 10 print areas, each of which can contain a graphic and/or text caption.
To add an image to the print layout, it must be in the active VIS window. Then you select print using either
•
File/Print Window from the main menu,
•
the Printer icon on the toolbar
to load the image into a print area. When you request a movie to be printed, you are presented with the Movie Layout options. When printing an image, a copy of the image is added directly to the print layout. Once added to the print layout, you can then position and size the print area relative to the page and to other print areas.
Once the current page layout is arranges as desired, you may
•
send the page to the selected printer by pressing Print,
•
preview the page layout by pressing Preview, or
•
return to VIS by pressing Close. Close retains all print areas and settings, allowing you to generate other images to be added to the print layout.
You can view the current Print Layout at any time during the VIS session by using
•
File/Print Layout from the main menu,
•
the
ctrl-P shortcut key, or
•
the Print Layout icon on the toolbar
VIS also supports customization and streamlining the printing process via saving and loading print layouts and the quick print options. Refer the VIS reference manual for more details.
