The best way to learn any software package is to have an experienced user show you how to use the system. To this end, HowTo video tutorials are provided with the VIS software. The tutorials are short (3 to 5 minute), indexed video clips that can be played from the VIS CD. These video clips are recordings of the VIS screen with an instructors voice describing each step required to perform an operation. The videos can be viewed full size, or they can be viewed half size so you can work along with the video.
As you browse through the manual or on-line help, the appearance of the icon shown below indicates that there is a How To tutorial covering the subject. You can also access the How To index at any time by using the F2 shortcut key or selecting the Help -> How To menu.
The VIS software also includes a comprehensive manual and reference guide. This manual is provided in both printed and on-line form. The on-line manual is linked to the VIS software to provide context sensitive help. Any time you need more information on a particular are of VIS, just use the F1 shortcut key to display the particular section of the manual covering the part of VIS you are currently using. If VIS isnt linked to a particular part of the manual, the contents of the manual are displayed. Be aware that the on-line help file also contains a full-text search capability - thus allowing you to search the entire manual for particular words or phrases.
