For any educational institution desiring to use VIS for academic or athletic purposes, the full version of the VIS software can be purchased at a discounted price of $199. For those of you who would like to incorporate the use of video analysis into a class, we make the following special offer. We will provide at no cost a single copy of the VIS software, a suitable video capture board, and a license for installing the student version of VIS on all lab computers. Students must purchase a $25.00 student version of the software and accompanying textbook that explains the functionality of video analysis, learning theory behind using video, and mental training techniques that particularly apply with computer video analysis. An instructor's guide is also included with a sample syllabus from an exercise science course. This set-up permits students to capture their video clips on the machine with the capture board. They may either then save them to a ZIP disk or other storage device, or transfer the video files via a network (if available in the computer lab.) The students may then work with their movies at any computer in the lab and may also work with the movies using the student version. The student version has all of the functionality of the full version of VIS except for the ability to capture video. The student text and curriculum materials were prepared by Dr. Elaine Seat, Ph.D., Sport Psychology, University of Tennessee to support her use of VIS for undergraduate and graduate exercise science courses. |
