It is often difficult to understand and quantify changes in motion. An excellent use of VIS is to compare movie clips of an individual taken at different times, or to compare two different individuals. Side-by-side comparisons can be made on the screen by using VIS to study execution of a motion to identify changes, or movie layouts can be combined and printed for study.
Identifying specific changes over time can provide a structured way to develop better form, or to identify changes which might have degraded performance.
Particularly in the case of beginners, it is helpful to compare the execution of a motion to that of an expert. Single images or entire movie clips can be compared. Over time, you can generate a library of images and movies for comparisons.
