Printer

Any printer supported by Windows should work with the VIS software. However, printer drivers vary tremendously in quality, so be sure to have the latest available drivers for your printer. Printer drivers can usually be downloaded from the printer manufacturers web page.
The primary decision in buying a printer for use with the VIS software is color inkjet versus. Monochrome laserjet. Some factors which may influence your decision are:

Color output can cost up to $1.00 per page, depending upon the type of printer and paper used, Laserjet prints costs are usually less than 10 cents per page.

Color output is relatively slow, taking anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes per page. Laserjet prints a very quick - usually around 10 to 15 seconds per page.

Color output can provide very nice, near photographic quality prints, while laserjets typically provide better, crisper text if you are also using your computer for text based applications.
