The 2023 Centennial Tuesday 9 Hole Golf League Summer Season is planned to begin on Tuesday May 2nd and run for 10 consecutive weeks through Tuesday July 11th. (A Fall Season is expected to follow and run through September.) The Summer League will have 40 players on 20 two player teams. The league will be divided into a 10 team “National League” (NL) and a 10 team “American League” (AL), teams will be placed into the NL and AL based on a random draw at the Pre-Season Gathering. NL teams will play a round-robin schedule of matches against each team in the NL during the first 9 weeks of the Summer Season. AL teams will play a round-robin schedule of matches against each team in the AL during the first 9 weeks of the Summer Season.

The team with the low total net stroke count wins an additional 3 point bonus. In all, there are 12 available points per Match. Scoring for the Summer Season to determine NL and AL winners and playoff eligibility will be based on the cumulative number of team points scored during the Regular Season. In the event of a tie, a tie breaker will be used to determine the AL and NL winners and playoff teams.Tie breaker:
- cumulative points scored in head-to-head results
- most points scored in the team’s final regular season match
- most points scored in the team’s first regular season match
- coin toss
Handicap
A 9 Hole League Handicap will be established based on a player’s performance in League Play. New players must establish a League Handicap in April by posting two 9-hole scores at Centennial. New players should plan to play an 18-hole round at Centennial in Fri/Sat/Sun Dogfight. This is the preferred method for new players to get established. Alternatively new players can post scores by playing at Centennial in April with another league member who is not their playing partner. Contact one of the Tuesday League organizers with questions regarding establishing a League Handicap. After 2 scores are posted, a player’s League Handicap will be recalculated and updated on a weekly interval based on this table.
Scores Available | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 or more |

Lowest Scores Used | 2 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 3 | 4 of most recent 7 |
A 90% multiplier is used for the calculation of the league handicap.
Players returning to the league from the prior year will begin the season with their previously posted scores used in the calculation of their League Handicap.
Rainouts
If it's raining we'll play as scheduled if the course is open for play at 5:30. If we are delayed due to lightning or standing water on the course, we will standby for start until 6:30. If we're still waiting to get on the course at 6:30, we will cancel the round. Should weather conditions close the course for the day prior to 5:30, a message will be posted on the league website and an email will be sent to all league members ASAP to inform all that league play is canceled.Rain outs that occur during the Regular Season will be rescheduled at what would have been the end of the season and the playoff date will move as needed.
Pre-Play
If a player knows in advance that he will be absent on a given Tuesday, he can “pre-play” his 9 holes in the 1 week period leading up to the regularly scheduled Tuesday round.- A player must declare his intent to “pre-play” by using the "Absence" tab on the web site a minimum of 12 hours prior to teeing off in his “pre-play” round.
- For “pre-play” scores to be valid, the player who will be absent must play the round with another league member who is not his teammate. Alternatively, the “pre-play” round can be played with a Centennial staff member.
- The pre-play must be done for the same 9 holes that are scheduled for the upcoming week.
- The pre-play must use the "net double bogie max" scoring method
- A picture of the signed and attested scorecard must be texted to one of the league organizers prior to the regularly scheduled Tuesday. The the scorecard cannot be sent via text it may be turned into course check-in desk.
- The option to post a “pre-play” score is available to each player a maximum of 2 times during the regular season.
- In the event that a rainout occurs, the “pre-play” score will not be posted and there will be no effect on handicap calculation.
- “Pre-play” rounds count towards FedEx points but are not be eligible to enter the weekly $5 game.
- Pre-play is not an option for the season ending playoff round.
Designated Subs
If a player knows in advance that he will be absent on a given Tuesday, he can arrange to have a “designated sub” take his place instead of using the “pre-play” option described above. A list of eligible subs and their contact info will be posted and maintained on the league website. It is the responsibility of the absent player to make arrangements with an available sub to commit to play on his behalf prior to the match. When a designated sub is being used, the intent to do so must be entered via the league website Absences page no later than 5PM on the Monday prior to the match. (The purpose here is to inform the opponents and the league organizers in advance so that the league’s online scoring system can be prepped.) If no subs are available to commit to play in the match and a “pre-play” cannot take place, there is no mercy granted to the absent player. During the season ending Playoff round, subs that can be chosen will be limited to those league players and other eligible subs who have a league handicap greater than or equal to that of the player who is absent.Absences
If a player is absent and does not post a “pre-play” score or make arrangements for a designated sub as described above, his teammate will face the opposing team shorthanded in a 2 vs 1 competition with hole-by-hole points awarded same as if it was a 2 vs 2 match (no “ghost players” or last minute “subs” will be used for absent players). Low team net score medal points will be awarded based on 2X the score of the shorthanded team. In the event that both teams are playing shorthanded due to absences, the 1 vs 1 match will be scored same as if it was a 2 vs 2 match. If both players on a team are absent and fail to post a “pre-play” score or make arrangements for subs, they forfeit their match and will not score any points that week. In the event of a forfeit, the opposing team must have at least 1 player on the course or they must post at least one “pre-play” score or arrange for a sub otherwise the match is declared a double forfeit and no points are awarded to either team. Forfeits will be scored hole-by-hole against the historic league net score for the appropriate 9 holes as if it was a 2 vs 1 or a 1 vs 1 match. In the event of a forfeit, the 3 point bonus will be awarded based on a 2 vs 1 or a 1 vs 1 match against the historic league net score for the appropriate 9 holes. Teams can choose to play shorthanded in the season ending playoff round.Extras
When openings exist in the lineup due to absences, extra players who are present will be assigned at random to fill out the field. Extra players can establish a league handicap and participate in the weekly $5 game. Playing as an extra player in the Summer Season serves to set up a player to fully participate in the Fall Sason. Playing in the Fall Season is a means to gain priority for entry into the following Summer Season.Fees
